MANAGEMENT POSITION: SERVICE DEPARTMENT We are actively seeking an experienced manager to head up our Service
Department. Our Service Team consists of journeymen technicians,
mechanical apprentices, boat riggers and yard men. The Service Office
includes a full-time permanent Service Writer / Warranty Administrator as
well as seasonal support.
Marine-specific experience is not required, but you must have the ability to
learn and understand mechanical and electrical functions in marine
applications, and a real desire to learn the marine industry.
The successful candidate will have well-developed skills in the following
areas:
- Customer Service
- Managing and leading a diverse team of technicians
- Motivation and team-building
- Logistics management
- Prioritizing conflicting demands under pressure
- Good judgment and decision-making
- Policy development, implementation and support
This is a salary position with benefits.
The compensation package is
negotiable dependent on experience and skills.
SERVICE WRITER / SERVICE COORDINATOR. We are actively seeking an organized multi-tasker to assist in our Service Department. This position will be part of the office team also consisting of our Service Manager and our Service Writer / Warranty Administrator. Marine-specific experience is not required, but you must have the ability to learn and understand mechanical and electrical functions in marine applications, and a real desire to learn the marine industry.
The successful candidate will have well-developed skills in the following areas:
- Customer service.
- Communication: written and verbal.
- Ability to effectively interface with a diverse team of technicians and riggers.
- Motivation and team-building.
- Logistics management.
- Prioritizing conflicting demands under pressure.
- Good judgment and decision-making.
- Keyboarding accurately to 30 WPM.
This position would be ideal for a semi-retired technician that has good customer service and communication skills. This is an hourly position with benefits. The compensation package is negotiable dependent on experience and skills. Future advancement potential with right candidate.
RIGGER / INSTALLER. Possible opening for the right candidate in our rigging department. If you have experience doing marine installations (outboards, gauge and control packages, downriggers, electronics, AC systems, battery chargers / inverters, pumps, wipers, etc…) and want the opportunity to expand your base of knowledge and experience, we may have an opening for you. Those with an eye for detail, a strong work ethic, and a desire to learn and excel at their trade are invited to apply. This is an hourly position with benefits, and would be full time year –round to the right person. Sherwood Marine approaches rigging as a trade unto itself, and as such pay top wages to those who can demonstrate excellence at their craft.
