SALES ADMINISTRATOR POSITION
Full-time Office Administrator required for our expanding company. You will be required to provide office administrative duties in support for the Sales Department and general management of Sherwood Marine Centre. This will include various duties including, Inventory Control, Sales Initiatives, Customer Service and other general office duties. Must have excellent telephone and computer skills (Outlook, Excel, Word), and an ability to organize work efficiently and effectively in a busy, high energy retail environment.
Experience and proven abilities needed in the following areas:
- Over all organizational skills including procedures and systems creation
- Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks in a fast paced environment
- Keyboarding accuracy while maintaining at least a 30 WPM speed
- Proficient with Microsoft Office programs ( Outlook , Word, Excel)
- Minimum Grade 12 spelling ability
- Comfort in navigating the internet and with email
- Ability to learn data entry requirements, and execute them with great detail and accuracy
- Above average organizational and multi-tasking skills
This is an hourly position, with starting wage dependent on experience.

MANAGEMENT POSITION: SERVICE DEPARTMENT
We are actively seeking an experienced manager to head up our Service Department. Our Service Team consists of journeymen technicians, mechanical apprentices, boat riggers and yard men. The Service Office includes a full-time permanent Service Writer / Warranty Administrator as well as seasonal support.
Marine-specific experience is not required, but you must have the ability to learn and understand mechanical and electrical functions in marine applications, and a real desire to learn the marine industry.
The successful candidate will have well-developed skills in the following areas:
- Customer Service and sales
- Managing and leading a diverse team of technicians
- Motivation and team-building
- Logistics management
- Prioritizing conflicting demands under pressure
- Good judgment and decision-making
- Policy development, implementation and support
This is a salary position with benefits. The compensation package is negotiable dependent on experience and skills.
MECHANIC POSITION: SERVICE DEPARTMENT; Full Time / Permanent Position
We are seeking an Apprentice Marine Mechanic as well as a Journeyman Marine Mechanic.
The successful candidates will have completed all or part of a Marine Repair Technician ticket or an Inboard/Outboard Marine Mechanic ticket, and have experience in some or all of the following:
- Completion of Pre-Delivery Inspections
- Installation of outboard motors and their related components
- Routine servicing of Stern Drives (Volvo Penta) and/or Outboard Motors (Yamaha, Honda, Evinrude and Johnson)
- Diagnostic and troubleshooting in Stern Drives and/or Outboards
- Servicing and repair of gearcases and drive units
- Completed factory training provided by any of the OEM marine manufacturers
This is an hourly position with benefits. We also offer tool allowances, clothing allowances, sick days, etc.: ask for information on these programs for the details.
RETAIL SALES CLERK
This is a full-time seasonal position starting immediately through to September. We are a very busy retail store with everything from marine engine parts sales, ski/wakeboard gear, stereo equipment, and boating accessories. We are looking for an individual with some previous retail experience that is well groomed, energetic, and enthusiastic. Marine knowledge is an asset but not a must. This is an hourly position, with starting wage depending on experience.
